Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Review
The Good
- Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is essentially a miracle-worker for drying, shrinking and even eliminating pimples
- You can simply apply this spot treatment to your individual pimples at night, wake up, wash your face, and feel great
- This acne spot treatment is affordable and effective
- Salicylic acid is used as a main ingredient in this spot treatment, which provides most people with excellent results
The Bad
- Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is only a spot treatment, so it doesn’t always work well as a cystic acne treatment
- This Drying Lotion will sting a little bit if you use it on broken skin
- It has a strong scent, so if you’re iffy about heavy scents, you might want to stay away from this product
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Review
The Good
- Works like a charm in drying out pimples or breakouts
- Clears out whiteheads
- Easy to use
- Shows results super fast – overnight
- Never caused any sort of irritation on my skin
- The only product in the market which has cleared out pimples this fast on my skin
- A blessing for girls with oily-combination skin type
The Bad
- Glass bottle- not travel friendly. I have heard however that they have come up with this product in plastic bottles. So definitely go for the plastic bottle one if possible
- This does have kind of a strong camphor-alcohol smell so might bother some. I don’t really mind it since I am used to such smells in hospital
Why I Chose To Review Mario Badescu Acne
The Good
- It contains Saliclylic Acid, a BHA acid which is effective at penetrating the skin deeply and not just exfoliating the outer layer of the skin
- Zinc Oxide is known to be a good ingredient for skin oiliness as well as acne and also works as a UVA and UVB natural sunscreen protector, preventing burns and photo-aging
- Calamine is an ingredient that has skin protecting and soothing properties while camphor is good for reducing skin itchiness
- Titanium Dioxide is a UV filter
- The product is contained in a glass bottle
The Bad
- It contains Isopropyl Alcohol, a form of alcohol that can cause dryness and irritate the skin. This type of alcohol is not included in those healthy forms of alcohol that respect the natural barrier of the skin and its ability to retain moisture. Although the quick spot drying effect this type of alcohol can offer temporarily seems like beneficial for oily and acne prone skin, its long term effects for the skin are not equally positive
- It also contains Talc which is used for keeping the skin dry but it is one of those controversial ingredients that one needs to dig deeper for information and discover whether this ingredient is safe for the skin since there are both positive and negative reports
